"STUFF THE BUS" - Transporting Shoes
We understand that schools will be bringing heavy boxes and bags to the Walk on Saturday. You will not be able to pull up to the bus to drop off your shoes before parking. HOWEVER, please find a volunteer who is wearing a bright yellow t-shirt and he or she would be happy to help you find the help you need to bring the shoes to the bus or the St. Vincent de Paul truck.
There will be two different areas for you to drop off your shoes. Please see map below. A Riteway bus and St. Vincent de Paul truck will be on the east side of the campus in the grass area near car parking. A second St. Vincent de Paul truck will be on the west side of Mount Mary campus near the bus drop off area.
Registration is FREE through September 25, 2017. A $10 registration fee will be charged to all registrants who register after September 25th.
Any walker who registers before October 9, will be guaranteed a Soles for Catholic Education Walk t-shirt!
Primary car parking will be available on the northwest side of the campus on the lawn off Menomonee River Parkway. Please note that cars will ONLY be able to enter via this parking lot prior to the start of the Walk. No exit allowed until the Walk is complete. Please use Burleigh Street to access Menomonee River Parkway. Menomonee River Parkway at Burleigh will be closed at 9:40 a.m. and will reopen at approximately 11:30 a.m. ALSO NOTE: If grass parking fills up, Menomonee River Parking MAY close prior to the time stated or at the discretion of the Police department.
Secondary parking will be available at the Mayfair Mall parking structure off North Avenue, just east of Mayfair Road. There will be a shuttle service provided by GoRiteway Transportation to take families to Mount Mary between 8:00 - 10 a.m. The shuttle will then pick up participants from Mount Mary between 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. and return to the Mayfair parking structure.
There is special bus parking available in the 92nd Street parking lot at Mount Mary University. This parking lot is located on the east side of campus, accessible from 92nd Street - south of Burleigh and north of Center. All buses must park in this lot. NO buses will be allowed to travel to Mount Mary via Menomonee River Parkway.
Buses: All buses, coming from the north or south via Hwy 41 / 45, should exit at Burleigh Street and head east to 92nd Street. Turn right (south) onto Burleigh to Mount Mary University's main parking lot. Because of traffic flow, NO buses will be allowed to travel to Mount Mary via Menomonee River Parkway. Menomonee River Parkway will be used by cars to access grass parking. In addition, the parkway will be closed to all traffic beginning at approximately 9:40 am and will remain closed until the Walk is complete.
Cars: All cars will be parked on the northwest corner of Mount Mary University's campus on the grass unless participants choose to park on one of the side streets, or utilize the Shuttle Bus running from the Mayfair Mall parking structure off North Avenue. Cars should plan to enter Mount Mary's campus for grass parking from Burleigh Street, NOT from east/west roads south of the campus as the Menomonee River Parkway will be shut down at approximately 9:40 am.

The 15 Catholic high schools in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee are sponsoring "Treat & Tweet" stops along the walk route. Walkers are encouraged to stop at each tent to pick up a treat, tweet and post updates about the Walk, while they support Catholic education. Take pictures and videos to share at the same time. This is a fun way to bring social media into the mix and get everyone excited about the event. Use the following hashtag on Facebook and Twitter: #SolesWalk
